Complete these steps for a seamless move

1/7) SCHEDULE MOVE-OUT INSPECTION

Please send us an email when you know your move out date in order to schedule a move out inspection with a member of the Boiceville team.

2/7) CLEAN YOUR COTTAGE

Your lease reads as follows: "Tenant agrees that upon termination of lease, Tenant will vacate the premises and leave the premises, including stove, shower, appliances, floors, walls, rafters, and other items in as clean a condition as they were when Tenant took possession." 

As you remember from your move-in day, we have a high standard of cleanliness for all of our Boiceville Cottages. We want our cottages to feel like yours starting from day one and that starts with a sparkling clean home. To that end, we expect tenants who are moving out to clean their cottages to that same high cleanliness standard that we set on day one. Tenants who do not fully follow the cleaning checklist will be charged $50 per hour for cleaning by Boiceville Cottages staff.

3/7) DONATE unwanted items via reuse centers

Please donate any unwanted items (mattresses, bulky items, etc) to a reuse center. Finger Lakes ReUse Center (607) 257-9699) will pick up your mattress and other items for a small fee. Alternatively, sell or offer items for free via our Facebook community group. Please do not leave unwanted items in/ near the trash bins. We don’t have enough space.

4/7) CLOSE YOUR GAS & ELECTRIC ACCOUNTS

Please notify NYSEG at 1-800-572-1111 and/ or Ehrhart Energy at 607-387-8881 to take the meters out of your name as of midnight of the last day of your lease. 

5/7) CANCEL WIFI, CABLE, AND PHONE SERVICE

The new tenant in your cottage won't be able to get Wifi until your account is closed. Please ensure that you contact your internet, cable, and phone provider to terminate your service. This is important for an easy transition for the next tenant. 

6/7) LEAVE your KEYS 

Please leave your door unlocked with the front door and mail box keys on counter.

7/7) GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK

Complete this form noting your cottage number and forwarding address so that we can return your security deposit. Our bookkeeper is in on Tuesday mornings.

  • Click next to Post to select your audience.
